A hearty, rustic red from France’s southwest, this Cahors has everything a savvy wine drinker wants, it is ready for immediate consumption, has excellent structure to age, and comes in at a value price.
Clos La Coutale consists of Malbec and Merlot. The average yield of 45hl allows a good maturity and a regular quality over the years. The vinification is done in thermoregulated vats, regular punching down allows a good extraction of aromas and fruit. Clos La Coutale is then matured in barrels and wooden casks for one year in order to obtain a good balance between tannins and fruit.
