The grapes of this Pinot Noir are 100% hand-harvested from selected blocks at our Estate-owned Te Muna Road Vineyard, one of the most prestigious growing sites within the Martinborough region of New Zealand and other distinct areas of the appellation. The grapes are destemmed (85%) prior to whole-bunch fermentation in a combination of open-top stainless steel tanks and French oak cuvees using indigenous yeasts. The wine ages nine months in French oak barriques, 7% new, before being fined, course filtered, and bottled.
Bright cherry with purple hue. Wild strawberry, blueberry, and white truffle notes are all in abundance. The palate has so much excitement and vibrancy yet an undeniable depth of flavor. Red fruits and savory notes are all present here. The acidity is fresh yet doesn’t distract from the silky mouthfeel – still a long road ahead for this wine.
Shows intense spice and perfume with a clear, sappy (70% whole-bunch) edge and gently reductive tones to the red and dark cherries. The palate texture has quite fine and nuanced tannins with dark cherry and chocolate flavors. Smoothly delivery –JS 93 pts
Fresh and vibrant, with a mix of wild strawberry, raspberry, and açaí berry flavors on a silky frame. This has intensity but also a lovely sense of aromatics and elegance, ending with forest floor, spice, and tarragon grace notes on the finish, which add a terrific savory edge.
