Hidden in the shadows of the Mayacamas mountains on the alluvial fan of western Oakville, Martha’s Vineyard continues to embody the pedigree of being named the first single vineyard-designated wine in Napa Valley. The 2016 vintage showcases this prized vineyard in all its glory; notes of wild black fruit, thyme, mint, eucalyptus, and bay are lifted and enjoyed with the polished tannin and mouthwatering freshness of this wine. Known as a textbook vintage in Napa Valley, the 2016 Martha’s Vineyard has been aged to perfection for immediate enjoyment at release and will continue to reward for the next 20+ years.
Drink now or cellar for up to 14 years. Decant 2 hours. A beautiful garnet colour, this Cabernet Sauvignon explodes on the nose with ripe blackberry and cassis, mint and tobacco. The palate is full bodied with beautifully integrated tannins balanced with good acidity and alcohol, although 14.5%, works very well in the balance. The flavours are fruit forward with blackberry, cassis, and boysenberry that mingles with chocolate and more savoury notes of cigars and a little earthiness.
